Trying to get back into the swing of things....

I have been away from the camera for a couple of months and I wish I could say it was because of something good but unfortunately its not so.....In late August , just one week prior to his 56th birthday, we were told that my father-n-law had terminal cancer with a prognosis of only a few weeks left. From that point, 100% of our energy and days, evenings & weekends were completely devoted to spending as much time as possible with him and caring for him. We lost him just 6 weeks later.... As horrible as this all was, we were so thankful to have had the time we did....he was able to enjoy a huge birthday bash, many many visits from friends & family, several fishing days and most importantly time with his children and 6 grandchildren. Jimmy was a good Papa to my babies and I will always hold that special memory of him.
Everything has been a whirlwind and we still feel dazed by it all but we are trying to get into a new routine and with the holidays approaching, Im beginning to get requests for some shoots. I hope to have some new photos to post here soon ! Take Care

Bride to be Marci is my husbands cousin and sister of Brett (see previous engagement post). Brother & Sister are not only getting married in the same year but within a month of each other! I had such a great time photographing these two....Marci and Alan had me laughing so much that I was worried all my shots might have hand shake! Alans comedic personality fits right in with our family and I CAN'T wait to see Marci walk down the aisle <3

Where oh Where has Julia Been?....

Its been awhile since I have posted ...WHY? well, I have been very busy enjoying the beautiful weather here in Savannah. There are MANY things I should be doing but some days,  I have zero willpower and find myself out enjoying the sun and water....I do plan to get back to shooting soon so stay tuned!

Savannah Engagement - Brett & Christine

So, I get an email from my husbands cousin Brett asking if I would be interested in shooting his engagement photos, saying that he wanted to give family first dibs to shoot "all this sexy" hahahahaha. He soon clarified that he really meant his gorgeous fiance Christine (Duh!) but after less than 10 minutes of shooting ...."all this sexy" I have to say is the two of them together! Brett and Christine, thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph you guys!

Welcome to my blog!

I have a blog! SWEET! ...why a blog you ask? well, my family and many of my friends have been encouraging me to start a business and have honestly struggled with this decision. I am not a 'professional' photographer.... I do not have the education, many many years of experiance, publication, thousands of dollars worth of gear and software, however I DO believe I have a good eye and a unique style. On the flip side, Do I really want to turn my hobby into a business? Will I lose the passion, love and giddiness I feel when I know I have gotten a great shot? "What to do What to do" has been running through my head for about a year now , then I remembered a friend once saying "you only go around once", so I figured why not & finally made the decision to take a baby step and start this blog. Here I can post my photos and any randomness that pops into my head (which happens often !) and if anyone likes what they see...I am open to discussing a session! So, welcome! I am just learning the ropes on "blogging" and will do my best to keep up, please keep dropping by to visit and see whats new!
